The Reel 13 Shorts program takes place each week online with three films being selected and the viewers vote for their favorite film. The top film wins a broadcast slot on Thirteen/WNET, America’s most-watched public television station.
TWITCH tells the poignant story of a young girl torn between two worlds: her domestic life caring for her wheelchair-bound mother and her escape into the emerging world of adolescence with her new boyfriend. A Slamdance grand jury prize winner and Student Academy Award finalist, TWITCH has screened in over 200 film festivals and won a dozen international awards.

Every Saturday night at 9, Reel 13 goes on the air on Thirteen, reaching a potential audience of millions throughout the New York metro region. The weekly lineup includes a classic feature, the winning short film, and an exciting new indie feature.
From the big-budget productions on the studio lots in Queens to film students doing tracking shots with shopping-cart dollies, from the lines outside the Ziegfeld to the packed lawn at Bryant Park, from camera phones on the subway to helicopter shots over the greatest skyline in the world — New York is movie territory and nobody knows the New York movie scene like Reel 13.
