Circus-themed burlesque music video for Joan as Police Woman.

NewFest & OP.Lynx Women’s Brunch is a quarterly programming series at Cattyshack. Join us as we socialize, network, and engage in dialogue about issues related to our representation on film by lesbian underground filmmakers as well as by media-makers in the mainstream.

On August 9, join us for a great selection of lesbian shorts from talented local and international filmmakers! From the sweet sentiment of Erin Greenwell’s Overnight Book to Swedish filmmaker Mandra Waback’s moving short Doors and Christy Wegener’s sharp Long Ago, to the rough and raucous riff raff of Katrina del Mar’s Surf Gang and Leah Meyerhoff’s Eternal Flame, this group of eclectic shorts showcases talented filmmakers with a definite perspective.

This event will start at 1:00pm with a continental brunch including $5 Bloody Marys and Pomegranate Mimosas and other drink specials. Brunch is followed at 2:30pm by the screenings and a Q&A with attending filmmakers moderated by Kerry Weldon, NewFest’s Administrative Director.

Plus: Stick around for the BBQ After-Party!
More reason to make it a day at Cattyshack. It’s hot outside and that means the rooftop deck is the place to be! The grillin’ gets started immediately after the Q&A!
