Fact - queer youth make up approximately 20-50 percent of the 20,000 homeless young people in New York City. In this snapshot true story, shot over one summer, and centered around Sylvia’s Place a homeless shelter for queer youth, (if there was an humanitarian award for selfless contributions it would surely have to go to the mentor, charge and Director of Sylvia’s Place, Kate Barnhart) the filmmakers follow the lives of seven LGBT teenagers: Kelly, Antoine, Isyss, Kristen, Eliseo ,Benji and J.D. as they tell their personal stories about knock-backs, addictions, ambitions, hope and a fierce determination to escape the streets and make it.
