Where were you when you first got the idea for Twitch?
Taking a large-format portrait of my mother as part of a photo project.

How did you go about turning the idea for Twitch into the film that it is today?
A lot of the usual, such as writing a script, auditioning actors, storyboarding … and a bit of the unusual, such as raising the money by acting on a reality tv show.

What was it like directing your own mother, who plays the mother of the the principal character?
Challenging, vulnerable, intimate, difficult, and incredibly rewarding.

What is coming up in Leah Meyerhoff’s Universe?
I just finished two music videos: TEAM QUEEN and ETERNAL FLAME (currently airing on MTV Europe) and I am in the process of fundraising for my first feature film. I also have very elaborate plans for Halloween.
