Final Cut Film Festival
“Spotlight South East”
7:30pm May 4 2008
The Sallis Benney Theatre
Brighton, United Kingdom

Tonight’s screening takes place in the newly renovated Sallis Benney theatre on Grand Parade, undoubtedly the city’s best venue for innovative film events with its combination of comfortable tiered and cafe-style seating, cinema-size screen and club-sized PA. Tonight’s programme brings you a strong collection of brand-new shorts from the region’s top indie filmmakers, including several UK premieres, plus startling film-themed VJ sets, guest DJ and surprise mini-dramas written and performed by professional actors.
Final Cut is one of the UK’s most successful independent short film exhibitors and this year we will be organising the Brighton Festival’s main film event with four screenings around the city, showcasing over 70 of the latest shorts from local, national and international film-makers with several UK/World premieres. But it’s not just films. In addition to latest and greatest from the global indie scene, you will see innovative film-themed VJ sets, guest DJs, live music and mini-dramas, a special Fringe film competition and lots more. Each screening event takes place in a different venue, with a completely different selection of films and live performances.
